This year’s CES in Las Vegas revolved primarily around screens. Many manufacturers showed new models of TVs and monitors. There was even an Xbox pad with an OLED screen. Lenovo, however, went a step further.
Lenovo has created a laptop with two screens. But no keyboard
The company brought the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i laptop to Las Vegas. At first glance, it looks inconspicuous, but we will quickly see its main distinguishing feature. Lenovo decided to get rid of the keyboard and put on not one, but two identical OLED screens.
Both have a diagonal of 13.3 inches and a resolution of 2.8K and 100% DCI-P3 color reproduction. The hinge rotates a full 360 degrees, so the notebook can be placed on the desk in almost any way. Both displays also work with the Smart Pen.
Yoga Book 9i looks like two large tablets connected by a hinge or an overgrown book. Lonovo calls the equipment “a book of unlimited possibilities”. The Chinese manufacturer also boasts that it is “the first full-size OLED laptop with two screens”.
But why would anyone need a laptop with an extra screen instead of a keyboard? The Chinese claim that this allows, for example, to work on two full-size windows at the same time or to display a presentation to colleagues on one screen, supporting the data shown on the other.
Lenovo has also prepared a dedicated external Bluetooth keyboard that can be connected to the device. Interestingly, after placing a physical keyboard on one of the screens, the laptop detects its presence and adjusts the interface accordingly. Lenovo boasts that it has collaborated with Microsoft in adapting the interface to the needs of two screens.
The heart of the Lonovo Yoga Book 9i is the Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB or 1 TB of data space. The whole thing will be powered by a battery with a capacity of 80 Wh, which should translate into 10 hours of work (on two screens) on a single charge. The laptop is expected to go on sale in June and will cost as much as $ 2,099 (PLN 9,235). For now, it is not known whether the notebook will go to Poland.
