“We are conducting intensive activities that are to lead to their full launch as soon as possible. The entire ICZMP IT team participates in these activities with the support of the Ministry of Health, the e-Health Center and NASK” – he added. The Institute of the Polish Mother’s Memorial Hospital in Łódź must translate tests and issue paper prescriptions
The spokesman for the facility, Adam Czerwiński, explained “” that most areas of the hospital’s work are operational – especially those that save the lives and health of patients. They operate, among others delivery and operating rooms, and patients admitted for elective procedures usually have CT scans and MRIs done much earlier. However, as a result of the hacker attack, examinations in the radiology laboratory – computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging – suffered the most. These devices need to be connected to the network in order to function properly.
The daily adds that the cyberattack on the ICZMP IT system took place on Friday (October 28). Therefore, patients have to reckon with serious difficulties. “Dziennik Łódzki” explains that the doctors of this facility issue prescriptions on paper, and some tests cannot be performed and are postponed to another day.
