He overtook Bieber and is going after Obama. Elon Musk scored a gigantic increase in popularity on Twitter

Elon Musk not only bought all of Twitter, but has been one of the most active users of the platform for years. He opened his account in June 2009. Only three years after the creation of the platform, at a time when Twitter was still a little-known social network, not available in many languages (the Polish version was launched in December 2011).

For the past 13 years, Musk has not only made more and more money, but also meticulously maintained his publicity on Twitter. So far, he has published about 20,000. tweets (that’s just over 4 entries a day), and his words – watched by millions of people – regularly even affect the share prices of his companies. Anyway, Musk has long treated Twitter as the press office of his companies. There he informs about his intentions and about the planned activities of Tesla, SpaceX and other companies he controls.

Musk has overtaken Bieber on Twitter and continues to climb

No wonder, then, that the billionaire is constantly increasing his popularity on Twitter. The last few months, however, have been record-breaking for him. Musk began to rapidly gain new followers since he announced his intention to buy the site. It can be assumed that the entire months-long battle to take over the platform even brought him over 30 million new fans. In April this year had about 82 million followers (he was 8th on the list of the most popular accounts).

Currently (November 4) it has as many as 113.9 million. On Thursday (November 3) it was still about 113.6 million people. Thus, Elon Musk gained about 300,000 just that night. fans and overtook Justin Bieber, so far the second “star” of Twitter with 113.8 million followers.

The recent increase in Musk’s popularity on Twitter is impressive. Every week, the billionaire gains millions of new fans. Since the actual takeover of the platform at the end of the previous week, the richest man in the world has gained as many as 3.3 million new followers. Last Friday, there were 110.6 million followers.

Currently, Musk is therefore in second place on the list of the most popular accounts on Twitter. Only Barack Obama is ahead of him. The former US president has never hidden the fact that he knows how to use social media and has maintained his popularity on Twitter for years. He currently has 133.4 million followers (in comparison, Joe Biden has “only” 36.2 million).

Musk is therefore missing 19.5 million new fans from Obama. One can be tempted to calculate that if he maintained the pace of the last 7 days, he would become the new “king” of Twitter in just over a month – more precisely in mid-December this year. Assuming, of course, that Obama does not significantly increase his Twitter achievements during this time.
