Users, however, do not run away from Twitter? Musk fears for servers: I hope they don’t burn down

Elon Musk quickly took advantage of the power that his Twitter acquisition gave him. In the first days of operation, he fired about half of the company’s employees, increased the fee for the Twitter Blue service and messed with the blue stamp of the verified account. He also took to blocking users who (either on purpose or as a joke) impersonate other people on the platform.

Twitter has never been so popular. Musk is worried about the servers

Despite so many changes, huge chaos and the retreat of some advertisers, Twitter is reportedly growing. It follows, inter alia, from a company document he reached on Monday. It said that since Musk took over the platform, the growth of actual Twitter users has accelerated by 20 percent. These are average data for all markets, in the most important of them (American) Twitter is expected to grow even faster.

The latest report indicates that the number of real active users (mDAU – monetizable daily user) amounted to 237.8 million and is now expected to be the highest in history. In the second quarter, their number increased by 16.6 percent.

On the night of Monday to Tuesday, this was confirmed by Elon Musk himself, although he did not provide any data on this subject. “Twitter usage is the highest ever lol,” he wrote. The information obviously surprised him or made him laugh, LOL (Laughing Out Loud or Lot of Laughs) can be translated as laughing out loud or lots of laughter. “I just hope the servers don’t melt,” he added a few minutes later.

The Verge adds that the exodus of users from Twitter may not have come. However, major advertisers and sponsors began to leave or suspend their activities on the Musk-controlled platform, fearing a possible increase in the number of racist or hate speech posts. However, Twitter claims that their number remains at the old level.

On Friday, Musk confirmed that Twitter had seen a huge drop in revenue, which he said was due to “pressure from activist groups on advertisers.” He added that in terms of content moderation, nothing has changed.

Twitter has seen a huge drop in revenue due to pressure from activist groups on advertisers, even though nothing has changed in content moderation and we have done everything we can to reassure activists. Incredible mess! They’re trying to destroy free speech in America

– wrote the billionaire.

More than a million accounts have disappeared from Twitter, according to a study

However, according to a study by Bot Sentinel recently published in the first days of Musk’s rule, Twitter recorded a significant outflow of users. Researchers – analyzing over 3.1 million accounts a day – counted the disappearance of 1.374 million accounts in the period from October 27 (when Twitter was taken over) to November 1.

Most, because 877 thousand. accounts were deleted by users, but as many as 497,000 are accounts suspended by Twitter. Of course, this does not undermine the statistics provided by Twitter (which cover a different period), but it shows that Twitter does not have to be as colorful as Musk praises.
