WhatsApp introduces the ability to write to yourself. It’s not stupid at all

WhatsApp is becoming more and more like most other messengers. In May this year Meta conglomerate (owner of WhatsApp) introduced reactions to messages and the ability to send large files (up to 2 GB) in the messenger. In September, it was possible to quickly join conversations using a single link.

WhatsApp will allow you to write to yourself

Now WhatsApp will introduce the ability to send messages to yourself. The new function was spotted by a specialist in the latest versions of the application for Android (version 2.22.24.11) and iOS (22.23.74).

The function shows up after selecting the contact list in WhatsApp. At the top of the list you can find a contact marked as “You” and assigned to the phone number of the application user. All messages you send to yourself will of course be classified and end-to-end encrypted. A similar opportunity has long been offered by social platforms such as Slack or Telegram.

Being able to write to yourself is of course the easiest way to quickly jot down notes in the app. In most messengers, you can not only save a message for later, but also view it on another device. The feature can also be used as a great way to easily transfer photos and other files from one phone to another or from a smartphone to a computer.

The more so that WhatsApp has recently released the so-called. companion mode, which allows you to link up to four smartphones to one account. When using it, all message history is automatically synchronized with all devices.

The self-messaging feature is not yet available to all users. WhatsApp has not yet officially announced its introduction. For now, only some of the owners of the latest version of the application can see it. However, new products are always introduced gradually, so others should receive it in the coming days or weeks.
