Again you can see where Elon Musk’s plane is. Another account has been created. Ban resistant?

Jack Sweeney made a splash on Twitter by setting up the ElonJet account, which for more than two years meticulously recorded the location of Elon Musk’s private jet and published information about the billionaire’s flights. Together with detailed data on the distance traveled, the amount and estimated costs of fuel consumed and carbon dioxide emitted.

The ElonJet account found over half a million fans on Twitter, but Musk himself definitely did not like it. The billionaire has repeatedly emphasized that sharing the location of his plane poses a threat to himself, initially encouraging the teenager to close his account, but finally – in mid-December – blocked his accounts.

Another account has been created to track Elon Musk’s plane

Jack Sweeney apparently does not give up, because he has just created another account operating on the same principle as ElonJet – he provides information on the recent trips of Musk’s plane. This time the profile is called “ElonJet but Delayed” and is quickly gaining fans. The account appeared on Twitter on Friday night, and by noon it had less than 2,000 followers. followers. So far, their number has doubled.

ElonJet but Delayed differs from previous accounts in one but very important detail – all information provided there is provided with a 24-hour delay. This means that Sweeney no longer provides information allowing, for example, potential criminals to locate the billionaire in real time. Musk may therefore have no grounds to block the new profile.

Apart from that, the formula remained unchanged. For example, we learn that 14 hours ago (+24 hours delay) Musk’s jet landed in Oakland (San Francisco Bay, home of Twitter), where it flew in from Austin (Texas, home of SpaceX’s space base). The machine covered 2,409 km, burned 6,369 liters of fuel worth $ 10,684 and emitted 18 tons of CO2.

Why did Elon Musk block a teenager’s account?

Elon Musk uses his jet very often, which is why the existence of ElonJet was very inconvenient for him. The billionaire complained that an account tracking his plane shared location information about him and his family, which was a threat. Jack Sweeney argued that his algorithm uses publicly available data that every booting machine must provide. He only collects this data himself and passes it on Twitter in a more accessible form.

In January this year Musk even tried to bribe Sweeney to delete the profile, but the negotiations ended in a fiasco. After the loud takeover of Twitter, the billionaire announced that – contrary to rumors – he did not intend to suspend the ElonJet account, because he values freedom of speech too much. Less than a month later, however, he changed his mind and suspended the teenager’s account. What’s more, he announced taking “legal action” against the creator of ElonJet.

Musk explained that Sweeney practices the so-called. doxing, i.e. provides information that allows you to identify or track a given person. Based on the same allegation, it suspended all other profiles that track specific people’s planes, including, among others, Two other accounts of a Florida teenager – one tracked the recent flights of the most famous people, the other – the location of US government aircraft, including Air Force One.
