BLIK payment failure across the country
Last-minute Christmas shoppers could be very surprised on Friday. Those who wanted to use the BLIK method, instead of the traditional code, only saw information that “the service is unavailable” or “the BLIK code could not be downloaded”.
Information about problems with the service was first confirmed by ING Bank, and later by BLIK itself. “We note temporary problems with the execution of transactions. We are working hard to ensure that the service works without interruption” – it was written. After a few hours, however, BLIK informed that the problem was solved. “BLIK has been operating without interruption for about 15 years,” it said on Facebook.
BLIK payment system – what is it?
BLIK is a mobile payment system that allows you to pay in stationary and online stores, withdraw and deposit cash in and make instant transfers only using smartphones, thanks to specially generated, one-time checks with a digital code.
According to the data of the Polish Payment Standard published in February, this mobile payment system is already used by 10 million people, and the total number of transactions made in 2021 amounted to 763 million.
