Xiaomi dispelled the myth about the ability of toothpaste to fix the screen of a smartphone
Xiaomi has asked users of the brand’s smartphones not to use toothpaste to repair broken screens. This was reported in a video posted on the Corporation’s YouTube channel.
The company’s specialists dispelled the myth about the benefits of toothpaste for smartphones. According to the authors of the video, many phone owners mistakenly use paste to mask scratches and chips on the screen of their device. However, according to Xiaomi representatives, the hygiene product can only worsen the situation.
In the video, the authors noticed that there is a belief that toothpaste applied to a damaged screen can fill microcracks and thus hide scratches. Specialists applied the paste to the screen of a broken phone and noticed that the tool did not bring any benefit.
Xiaomi materials also state that the microparticles present in the toothpaste cannot effectively repair the cracks on the screen. Also, the paste is an alkaline substance, that is, it can destroy the acid resistance of the oleophobic coating – in this case, dirt and fingerprints will stick to the screen. In conclusion, experts recommended that owners of smartphones with a broken screen contact service centers for repairs.
In mid-December, Xiaomi introduced new flagship smartphones. The Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro devices came out with the top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and received an OLED display.
