Apple intends to introduce OLED MacBook Air in 2024
Apple intends to introduce the first computers with an OLED display in 2024. It is reported by MacRumors.
Journalists of the thematic media referred to the report of the head of Display Supply Chain Consultants Ross Young. According to an insider, in two years Apple will release the first tablets and computers with an OLED screen. According to the analyst’s disclosures, by 2024, the American company will complete work on the 13-inch MacBook Air laptop and 11-inch iPad Pro tablet.
Yang did not share the specific characteristics of the models, but clarified that the devices will come with “two-row” OLED displays, which will receive two layers of RGB pixels. The specialist noted that in this way the screens of devices will be distinguished by increased brightness and low power consumption. Analysts stressed that this is especially important in the case of laptops and tablets running on batteries.
In addition, the laptop and tablet will support ProMotion technology – image updates at a frequency of up to 120 hertz. A similar option is supported by the new iPad and MacBook, but these devices have an IPS-matrix. Currently, OLED displays are used only in iPhones and Apple Watches.
At the end of September, analyst Ross Young said that all iPhone 15 smartphones will receive a Dynamic Island screen cutout. Also, all phones scheduled for 2023 will have support for screen refresh rates up to 120 hertz.
