Apple has a problem with the availability of the iPhone 14 Pro? The courier won’t make it before Christmas

Apple has barely introduced the new iPhone 14 Pro and is already having a problem with their availability. At least when it comes to two better (and absurdly expensive) variants. And no, this is not the result of exceptionally high demand, but the problem with ensuring adequate supply that affected the Californian giant. We reviewed the offers of Polish electronics stores, combed the Apple website and we know that there are no new iPhones and this will not change soon.

The iPhone 14 Pro is missing from the Apple store. Delivery only after Christmas

iPhones 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max can be bought on the Vistula, but it is becoming more and more difficult. The few stores that still have these smartphones on offer have probably not sold all their stock. Many other Pro iPhones are missing or temporarily unavailable.

On the official website of Apple, the iPhone 14 Pro can be thrown into a virtual basket and even ordered. Just like the iPhone 14 Pro Max. But there is no chance that the courier will knock on the door before Christmas. The estimated date of delivery to Warsaw is … December 29 (exactly one month) or even January 7 in the case of the “delivery on Saturday” option.

The month of waiting applies regardless of whether we choose the iPhone 14 Pro or 14 Pro Max. The capacity of the built-in memory or the color version is also irrelevant. You have to wait a month or more for each variant. Completely different from the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, for which the waiting time is a standard one business day.

Protests in China will cost Apple dearly

The problem is that this is only the beginning of the problems. As it became known on Monday, the subcontractor of Apple will produce 6 million iPhones 14 less than expected by the American company. Importantly, these are the most interesting and at the same time the most expensive smartphones with the note Pro. And this is just before the peak of the pre-Christmas shopping madness.

Production problems are the result of protests and riots that broke out this month at a plant in Zhengzhou, China – the world’s largest iPhone factory. The immediate cause of the strike was the postponement of the promised bonus payments, but the employees of the Zhengzhou plant had already complained about to poor working conditions and fear of coronavirus infection. In October, they also fled en masse to their homes, fearing forced closure on the premises of the plant (where a large part of the employees lived).

The aforementioned 6 million iPhones 14 Pro are, of course, unofficial estimates of a Bloomberg informant familiar with the subject. Apple is silent on the matter, in October the company only revealed that due to the restrictive “zero COVID” policy in China, there may be delays in iPhone deliveries. And they occur. Worse, it probably won’t change anytime soon.

With each passing day, the planned delivery date is shifting, so from Thursday Apple will probably only display January dates. Further production problems will make it hard to believe that Apple will keep these promises. It is very possible that in the absence of 6 million smartphones that have not been produced, the new iPhone 14 Pro will have to wait until February or even longer.
