As a concept under construction, responsible technology seeks to ensure a balanced relationship between technology, society and the environment, which is why it is necessary to think of a technology that goes hand in hand with ethical principles, analyze the risks and social implications of its use, and incorporate values ​​of equity and inclusion, with a focus on rights in terms of access, privacy and security.

According to María Belén Albornoz, lead researcher at Fairwork and tenured professor at Flacso, one of these technologies, specifically artificial intelligence, can play a fundamental role in Ecuador and Latin America, as it is multipurpose in nature and has great capacity. predictive, so it could help solve various economic, political and social challenges facing the region.

As a sign of the potential that technological solutions have to contribute to the resolution of social problems, the creation of initiatives such as ‘Connected’a laboratory that seeks to reduce digital gaps through the promotion of tools for social transformation.
