Alert levels in Poland extended

BRAVO and CHARLIE-CRP – what do the alert levels mean?
The scale has four levels – the second on the scale is the BRAVO degree. It can be introduced when there is an increased and foreseeable threat of a terrorist event or when the specific target of the attack has not been identified. So it is preventive in nature.
The BRAVO grade was introduced in connection with the attack on Ukraine and increased traffic on the border. From March this year, it was in force in the Lubelskie and Podkarpackie voivodeships. In April, its coverage was extended to cover the entire territory of the country.
It imposes additional obligations on the police, the Border Guard and the Military Police. Officers of these institutions must carry long guns and bulletproof vests. In addition, they must carry out inspections of vehicles, people and public buildings in areas at risk of attack.

Poland at risk of cyberterrorist attacks?
In turn, CHARLIE-CRP was introduced to counter threats in cyberspace. It is the third degree out of four and is valid in Poland for the first time. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki introduced it on February 21. Previously, the first stage of ALFA-CRP was in force.
