SamMobile: Samsung has invented a fingerprint scanner that can not be hacked
Samsung has announced the appearance of a fingerprint scanner for smartphones, which is almost impossible to hack. This is reported by SamMobile.
The journalists referred to the materials of the Korean corporation, according to which the company has invented a new technology for protecting information on smartphones. Engineers have suggested that when unlocking certain functions of the phone, scan not one, but three of the user’s fingers.
According to Samsung Display, the simultaneous use of three fingers when scanning can make a smartphone 2.5 billion times safer. So that the consumer does not have to enter data from each finger individually, Samsung has come up with a new generation OLED display, the entire surface of which acts as a scanning space. Thus, the consumer can place three fingers of his hand anywhere on the screen.
Apparently, the three-finger authentication system will be used when interacting with sensitive consumer data – for example, when working with financial applications. Samsung could not specify when the new technology will appear in the brand’s smartphones.
Earlier, Pavel Korostelev, an information security expert at the Security Code company, told how to protect a smartphone from surveillance. The specialist recommended restricting access to sensitive data for new applications.
