Insider Ming-Chi Ko: Apple VR headset will not appear until the second half of 2023
Apple won’t release a mixed reality headset until the second half of 2023. This is reported by MacRumors.
According to authoritative insider Ming-Chi Ko, mass shipments of Apple’s mixed reality headset, which combines VR and AR functions, will be delayed until the second half of 2023. Ko noted that the delay is caused by problems with the software.
The insider revealed details regarding the timing of the release of a new device for the American corporation. According to him, the announcement of a mixed reality helmet may take place in January 2023, although Ming-Chi Ko considers WWDC in June to be the most suitable event. Koh believes that a long delay between the announcement of the device and the moment it goes on sale could harm the popularity of the gadget.
The specialist expects the mixed reality headset to be a niche device. Koh suggested that by the end of 2023, the company will supply at least 500,000 units of the gadget.
Earlier, Ming-Chi Ko said that Apple will introduce its headset in early 2023. The analyst noted that the production of the device is delayed due to coronavirus restrictions in China.
