It is the largest cut of the company so far, and represents 3% of corporate workers and less than 1% of total workers.
According to sources who have requested anonymity New York Times, the cuts will focus on Amazon’s device organization, including the Alexa voice assistant, as well as its retail division and human resources.
The company announced that its economy is not going through a good moment and that, as a result, they have had to stop hiring. According to the vice president of the People and Technology Experience section, Beth Galleti: “We will maintain this pause for the next few months and continue to monitor what we are seeing in the economy and in the business to make the necessary adjustments.”
The most striking thing about this situation is that Amazon is doing this just before Christmas, as it is an opportunity to improve the economy of companies like Amazon.
