Revealed the characteristics of the new iPhone SE

MacRumors: iPhone SE planned for 2024 will get a screen from the iPhone Xr

Apple has scheduled the launch of the new SE series smartphone in 2023. It is reported by MacRumors.

Media journalists referred to a disclosed report by Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst Ross Young. According to experts, the new iPhone SE model will receive some characteristics from the iPhone Xr model – a 6.1-inch IPS screen with a “monobrow”. The release of the phone is scheduled for 2024.

Probably, the “monobrow” of the future phone will be smaller than that of the iPhone Xr and other Apple smartphones. This will be done due to the fact that the device will not have a TrueDepth sensor, which is required for the Face ID scanner to work. It is also believed that the smartphone will retain the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, but in a different format – the fingerprint scanner, apparently, will be built into the side button.

According to journalists, Ross Young’s report does not contradict other insiders about the future Apple smartphone. The redesign of the SE was previously reported by authoritative insider Ming-Chi Ko and well-known Apple blogger Jon Prosser.

The original iPhone SE came out in 2016. In 2020, Apple released the second generation SE, in 2022 the third generation SE.

In early October, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman said that Apple had abandoned the use of a fingerprint sensor in their flagship smartphones – for a long time or forever. Gurman noted that the new SE series phones will come out without a physical Home button and will be equipped with a fingerprint scanner located in the side button.
