This feature certainly makes it easier to get to your destination (after all, it’s easier to find a place if you know what it looks like), but also allows you to view the architecture of almost any place on Earth.

Since they gained popularity, houses and buildings of the searchers themselves have become one of the most searched places. It is not surprising – after all, we are interested in whether private places of residence are open to the public on the Internet. In the text, we explain how to find and view your home via Google Street View, and how you can reserve it.

How to find your home on Google Maps?

To use Google Maps, of course, you need a device with Internet access, such as a smartphone or computer. How do I find my home on Google Maps? To do this, follow the steps below:

1. We go to Google Maps, i.e. by entering the address into the browser.
2. In the “Search in Google Maps” field, enter the address you are interested in and click on the magnifying glass symbol.
3. Click on the box with the word “Layers” (the square in the lower left corner of the screen).
4. Select the “Street View” option (if we do not see it immediately after expanding the window, click “More”).
5. Click on the part of the street that interests us (e.g. the one in front of our house) highlighted in blue.
6. Google Maps takes us to a given street from which we can view the objects of interest.

If we want to move further along the selected street, it is enough to move the cursor over the image and click on the desired waypoint. We can view a given place from a 360 ° perspective. To exit the preview, just click the “Esc” button.

How do I hide my home on Google Street View?

If it is disturbing and we do not like the fact that the photo of our house is on Google Maps, we can easily reserve it – in this case, simply blur it. What do we have to do then?

1. Find the object of interest in Google Street View.
2. Select “Report a problem” (black bar in the lower right corner of the screen).
3. When the browser takes us to the form – select what and for what reasons we want to blur.
4. Enter your e-mail address (to which a notification will come when our house is blurred).
