The mobile branch of Nokia has been in the hands for several years Finnish concern HMD Global. I do not hide that devices with the logo of the once iconic brand do not evoke enthusiasm in me today. Most of them are absolutely average, and in terms of capabilities they are significantly inferior to smartphones released by major manufacturers such as Samsung, Xiaomi or Realme.
A market segment in which Finns can definitely prove themselves is the so-called feature phones, that is cheaper cell phone models, which are devoid of most of the functions available in smartphones, such as an application store, a large touch screen or a good camera.
HMD Global has just presented three phone models that fall into this category. As might be expected, they relate to classic Nokia mobile phones from the beginning of the 21st century, i.e. the period in which the Finnish brand was the absolute market hegemon.
Nokia 8210 4G HMD Global
Three new Nokia phones. There is a flap, a Snake and something for music lovers
The first device presented is Nokia 8210 4G, which is a new version of the phone from 1999 with the same name. This model is characterized by a very classic shape, with which Nokia phones have been associated for years. We find here a screen with a diagonal of 2.8 inches (QVGA), keyboard, built-in FM radio, MP3 player, 1450 mAh battery and Snake, a famous game that won the hearts of users of the Finnish manufacturer’s devices decades ago.
Nokia 8210 4G will debut in Poland at the end of August. The phone was priced at PLN 375.
Nokia 8210 4G is a tribute to the stylish Nokia 8210 presented at Paris Fashion Week in 1999. It is a style icon adapted to the present day. With millennials opting for minimalism and Gen Z looking for a more sustainable fashion, entry-level phones are becoming much in demand
– explains Raun Forsyth, VP Design, HMD Global.
Nokia 2660 Flip HMD Global
Another proposition from HMD Global is Nokia 2660 Flip, i.e. a flip phone that will go on sale in black, blue and red variants. The device was priced at PLN 349 or PLN 359 (version with a docking station) and it will also go on sale at the end of August.
Nokia 2660 Flip is equipped with a diagonal display 2.8 inch and additional external screen 1.77 inchwhere notifications and the current time are presented. We also find a 1450 mAh battery.
Our flip phones have always proven to be extremely popular with seniors, but recently we’ve seen younger audiences take over the trend of simple phones thanks to their easy handling, exceptional durability and extended battery life. The Nokia 2660 Flip is a reliable companion for all ages
– explains the producer.
Nokia 5710 Xpress Audio HMD Global
The last of the presented devices is aimed primarily at audio enthusiasts. Is it Nokia 5710 XpressAudio. The phone is distinguished by an original design. There are buttons on the housing that allow you to control music, as well as a compartment where you can put wireless headphones. I must admit that this is a very interesting concept.
The only problem with Nokia’s music phone is that the device has been denied access to streaming services. All that’s left is to listen to music through the built-in MP3 player. Well, it’s a retro phone, after all.
Like the Nokia 8210 4G and Nokia 2660 Flip, the Nokia 5710 XpressAudio will go on sale in Poland at the end of August. The device was priced at PLN 375, and the wireless headphones can be found, of course, in the box with the phone.
