Russian hockey player Ivan Fedotov was taken to Severomorsk, Murmansk region, for military service. This was reported to TASS by a source in law enforcement agencies.

Ivan Fedotov was detained on July 1, after which he was taken to the military enlistment office. The athlete had an attack of gastritis there, and he was hospitalized. The goalkeeper’s lawyer Alexei Ponomarev said he had no information about the player’s whereabouts.

The athlete was detained on suspicion of evading military service. The situation developed against the backdrop of the player’s recent signing of a contract with the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously represented CSKA Moscow, with whom he won the Gagarin Cup.
