Ecuador will participate with 259 athletes, 139 men and 120 women, and in 26 disciplines in the Bolivarian Games of Valledupar 2022, an event that will begin on June 24 and in which the tricolor delegation will have as flag bearers the experienced weightlifter Alexandra Escobar and the young boxer Gerlon Congo.

The Ecuadorian medalists at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Neisi Dajomes (gold) and Tamara Salazar (silver), both weightlifters, will compete in Valledupar. They will go, respectively, in the categories of 81 kg and 87 kg.
Escobar and Anggie Palacios, also weightlifters and who achieved an Olympic diploma last year, also make up the weightlifting group, at 59 kg and 71 kg, in that order.
According to a statement from the Ecuadorian Olympic Committee, other athletes who registered their names in Tokyo 2020 also appear on the list: golfer Daniela Darqueathe wrestlers Luisa Valverde and Lucía Yépez, the swimmer David Farinango, the biker Doménica Azuero and the boxers Érika Pachito and María José Palacios.
Ecuador will participate in the following sports: athletics, badminton, 3×3 basketball, bowlingboxing, speed boating, cycling (track, road, BMX, MTB), equestrian, fencing, artistic gymnastics, golf, judo, karate, weightlifting, wrestling, swimming (pool and open water), figure and speed skating, squashtaekwondo, tennis, table tennis, archery, shooting sports, triathlon, sailing and beach volleyball.
The Games will run until July 5.
