Five-time Stanley Cup winner Guy Lefleur dies at 70

Five-time Stanley Cup winner, National Hockey League (NHL) legend Guy Lefleur has died at the age of 70. It is reported by the CBC.

It is known that in the last years of his life, the Canadian struggled with lung cancer and underwent several operations.

Lefler won all five NHL victories with the Montreal Canadiens. He also played for the New York Rangers and the Quebec Nordiques. The forward was the top scorer of the NHL regular season three times, was recognized as the most outstanding player of the season according to the players’ union the same number of times, and was also recognized twice as the hockey player who made the greatest contribution to the success of the team in the regular season.

On April 12, at the age of 60, the former forward of the Moscow Dynamo, the 1988 Olympic hockey champion Sergei Yashin, died. The cause of the athlete’s death was not specified.
