Chelsea eyeing French defender to replace Antonio Rudiger

With the imminent departure of defender Antonio Rudiger at the end of this season, Chelsea turn their attention to the ball market in search of a new defender.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Blues have already found a name. It is the French Jules Koundé, current defender of Sevilla.

At just 23 years old, Koundé was revealed by Bordeaux, but gained prominence for world football in Spanish football. At Sevilla since 2019, the defender has played 128 matches for the team.

Despite having a contract with the team led by Julen Lopetegui until June 2023, the athlete has already shown interest in playing in the Premier League.

In addition to Chelsea, Newcastle has also been pointed out as a possible interest in Koundé’s signing. According to the tabloid, the value of the player’s release clause with Sevilla is 82 million euros.

Meanwhile, the London club prepares to lose Rudiger, one of their main defenders. The German, who only has a contract until the end of this season, has already signed an agreement to reinforce Real Madrid at the end of his contract with the English.
