Manchester City beat Real Madrid 4-3 This Tuesday, April 26 Champions League semi-final first leg which was played at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester. The English team takes advantage in the playoff.
In the first eleven minutes of the match, City garnered a two-goal lead. Real Madrid made two defensive mistakes that the team led by Josep Guardiola took advantage of. De Bryune made it 1-0 at minute 2 and Gabriel Jesus scored the 2-0 in the 11th minute. The Spanish team continued to make many mistakes in defense and in getting the ball out. City had several clear scoring chances, but they forgave, and Karim Benzema shortened distances (2-1) for Real Madrid in the 33rd minute.
As soon as the second half began, Manchester City had a double chance to score; Mahrez’s shot hit the post after a great play, the ball reached Foden and Carvajal avoided the English footballer’s goal by clearing the ball under the goal line. Shortly after, in the 53rd minute, Foden put the 3-1 on the scoreboard after finishing a lateral center. Two minutes later Vinicius started from his field, left all his rivals behind, entered the area, and scored 3-2 after beating goalkeeper Ederson.
After the madness of the first 70 minutes, it seemed that calm was coming, but Bernardo Silva scored a great goal in the 74th minute to make it 4-2 on the scoreboard. The match was complicated again for Real Madrid, but Laporte committed a penalty in the 82nd minute, for touching the ball with his hand inside the area, and Benzema made it 4-3 by converting the maximum penalty masterfully.
The final minutes were played at a very high pace, like the whole match, neither team was able to score more goals, and Manchester City took the victory (4-3).
