Vyalbe responded to the opponents of her re-election to the FIS Council

Vyalbe refused to discuss her re-election to the FIS Council with opponents of her candidacy

The head of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR), Elena Vyalbe, responded to the opponents of her candidacy for re-election to the board of the International Ski Federation (FIS). She is quoted by RBC.

Vyalbe stated that she had already submitted the necessary documents. “And the rest of the discussion does not need comments,” she added.

Earlier, the President of the Finnish Ski Association, Markku Haapasalmi, spoke about the possible re-election of Vyalbe to the FIS Council. “There is nothing unclear about this issue. We strongly condemn her candidacy and I am not going to elect her to the board,” he said. Haapasalmi stressed that he opposes the re-election of the Russian woman because of the situation in Ukraine.

The new composition of the FIS Council will be elected at the general assembly of the federation, which will be held on May 26 in Milan. Vyalbe became a member of the body last summer.
