Route and profile of today’s stage 6 of the Tour of the Basque Country 2022: Eibar – Arrate (135.7 km)

The sixth and decisive last stage of the race will have as a stage Eibar and its surroundings, in a day of practically 136 kilometers of enormous difficulty. There is no other round of a week on the international calendar that has a route with such a level of hardness and that is that the participants who arrive until the sixth day will have to face seven mountain passes.

In this way, in the initial 72 kilometers on Saturday they will chain the stops of Elkorrieta (3rd category, 2.6 kilometers at 6.7% average gradient), Endoia (2nd category, 5.3 kilometers at 6.8%), Azzurki (1st category, 5.1 kilometers at 7.4%) and gorilla (2nd category, 9.6 kilometers at 5.7%). We still keep alive in our memory the contribution that Gorla made and his decline last year, with the exhibition by Alex Aranburu to an open grave

Then, the second half of the day will take place. The twisted ascent to Krabelin (1st category, 4.1 kilometers at 10.5% average gradient), Urkaregi (3rd category, 5 kilometers at 4.8%) and the traditional final in Userza (1st category, 4.5 kilometers at 8.8%) will squeeze the last traces of strength from the cyclists.

The goal of arrate will have the honor of rendering the final verdict. The previous edition brought with it the Gaudu stage victory and Roglic’s definitive triumph in the general classification.
