‘Ecuador is not afraid of anyone; will go out to fight as equals in Qatar 2022’, the feeling of Carlos Manzur, vice president of the Ecuadorian Football Federation

Feelings of optimism and excitement are what have been generated after the Ecuadorian team met their next rivals in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. One of the directors who are confident that Gustavo Alfaro’s team will have a great campaign in the contest is Carlos Manzur, vice president of the Ecuadorian Football Federation.

The leader, who was present at the draw this Friday, April 1, in Doha, was happy, especially because the Tri, which was classified in group A along with Qatar, the Netherlands and Senegal, will be the to play the opening duel against the hosts (on Monday, November 21 at 05:00, Ecuadorian time).

“This is why we come to the World Cup, to be seen; give these boys (the selected ones) an opportunity to change their lives,” Manzur said from Qatar.

“God continue to guide and protect us. The opening match is one chance in a million, and we’ll be there. Let’s go for more,” added the leader.

Referring to Group A, Manzur insisted in his encouraging voice that the only goal in the World Cup will be to win every match.

“Don’t worry about who’s in the group. In the World Cup you have to win the matches; if not, we do not advance. We are going to go out and fight as equals; these guys are not afraid of anyone,” Manzur said.

The director insisted that the leadership, coaching staff and players are united and that the Tricolor will be expected to have a great World Cup campaign. (D)
