The head of the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC) Dane White reacted to the words of the Russian heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko, who said that the promoter was only interested in money. This is reported by “Championship.com”.
“A couple of weeks ago Fedor said that I only had money on my mind. I will say this: I don’t know him, but he doesn’t know me. We saw each other only once. Well, he himself should have thought about money when we offered him a contract, “- said the head of the UFC.
White also recalled that he offered Emelianenko very favorable terms of the deal, but he refused. The promoter admitted that he does not believe that the Russian will ever perform in the UFC octagon.
Before the Bellator tournament in Moscow, Emelianenko told reporters about his meetings with White and the failed transition to the UFC. In particular, the Russian mentioned that the leadership of the promotion was not interested in the transition to the organization of other representatives of the Emelianenko team.
Emelianenko played for Strikeforce from 2009 to 2011 and had four fights. In 2017, Emelianenko joined Bellator.
