Mallorca has dismissed coach Luis García Plaza, as reported by the club this Tuesday, March 22. The board’s decision comes after a bad streak of results of the Balearic team.
Since beating Athletic Club on February 14, Mallorca has linked six consecutive defeats against Betis, Valencia, Real Sociedad, Celta, Real Madrid and Espanyol. In addition, the Balearic team entered the positions last Sunday, March 20, after the defeat against Espanyol and the victory of Cádiz against Villarreal. Mallorca occupies 18th place of the LaLiga Santander classification with 26 points, one from Cádiz (17th with 27 points), which marks the permanence.
García Plaza was the coach who promoted Mallorca to the First Division last season (2020-2021) achieving 82 points, a record figure in the club’s history.
