Until recently, Kamil Grosicki was one of the most important players in the Polish national team. The experienced winger was appointed to training camps by both Adam Nawałka and Jerzy Brzęczek even when he had problems playing for the club. However, the situation changed significantly during the term of office. The Portuguese invited the 33-year-old only to his first training camp as a coach, and then he gave it up completely.
Grosicki, however, did not give up and with the summer transfer to Pogoń Szczecin showed that he intends to fight for a return to the national team. With his performances on the fields of the league he showed that he is still a valuable player and can still give a lot to the team. In January, fate smiled at him, because he took the position of the manager, who sent him a call-up for the March training camp.

So Kamil Grosicki is preparing with the team for the play-off finals, and he also told “” why he did not decide to end his representative career. – I am a winger, it is known that in this position it is not easy to play for older players, because this position requires a lot of effort both from the front and back. When I was returning to the league, some people probably thought that Grosik was coming to just cut off the tickets, that this was my end. I never saw it that way. When I signed the contract, I said that I want to feel the joy of life and football again – said the 33-year-old.
– I did not think that I was withdrawing in football, I wanted to go to training with a smile on my face. I found it all in Szczecin. It worked, so I still believed that I could also make my next dreams come true. We do not have so many wingers in Poland that I would not have a chance to return to the national team. If I were a forward and had the competition we have in the national team in attack, I would just say thank you. However, in my situation, I did not feel that the door was closed – he explained.
The player admitted that the appointment to the team was the most beautiful gift for him. – Everyone knows what my approach is to playing for the national team, to being part of this team. It is absolutely the greatest honor, there is nothing more beautiful. Filled stands, the stake, the atmosphere – it all turns me on a lot. Just as a small child waits at Christmas for Santa to bring him a gift, I was waiting for this calling – admitted Grosicki.
Kamil Grosicki played 19 games this season, scoring four goals and five assists. He significantly contributed to the fact that Pogoń Szczecin is currently the leader and one of the main candidates to win the Polish championship.
