Manchester City is the world’s top earner according to Deloitte research
The auditing company Deloitte presented the results of a study of the financial performance of football clubs around the world. The document is available on the organization’s website.
English “Manchester City” topped the list of the most profitable clubs in the world. At the end of the 2020/2021 season, the Citizens’ income amounted to 664.9 million euros. Real Madrid finished second with €644.9 million in revenue. The top three was closed by Bayern Munich (611.4 million euros).
Among Russian clubs, Zenit was named the leader in terms of income. The club’s income from the banks of the Neva amounted to 212 million euros. With this indicator, blue-white-blue occupy the 19th line in the world ranking.
The main income of Zenit, according to the study, comes from commercial activities: the sale of club paraphernalia, advertising, and so on. This item is 76 percent of total income. The sale of tickets for matches brought Zenit 7.3 million euros – four percent of income.
