The organizers of the Paris Games-2024 presented on Monday the ticket sales process that will start from next year with half of the tickets for the event at 50 euros ($ 55) or less.
In total, 13.4 million tickets will be put on sale, 10 million for the Olympics and 3.4 for the Paralympics.
One million tickets, that is, 10%, will be sold at 24 euros (26.4 dollars) and will give the option to watch all sports live. Another 50% will cost 50 euros or less.
Each ticket will give the right to attend a “session” as a spectator and will vary depending on the sports, without the organizers having given more details at the moment.
The process will start in December 2022. Those interested must participate in a rafflefirst for tickets that group together different sports, starting in February, and then tickets for specific events, starting in May.
Tickets represent a third of the income provided by the organizing committee. The rest, up to the 4,000 million euros (4,400 million dollars) in which the Games are budgeted, will come from private sponsors and a contribution from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
For the Paralympic Games, 500,000 tickets will go on sale at a price of 15 euros ($16.5) and 50% of the tickets will cost 25 euros ($27.5) or less. A 24 euro ($26.5) daily pass will also go on sale, giving access to various sports. (D)
