Roma’s best match for Mourinho. Lazio is broken. A Pole had a large share in this

It was the 27th minute of the match in Rome when Nicola Zalewski could score. The Pole played a great action with Henrichen Mychitarian and ended up in the Lazio penalty area. The 20-year-old only had Thomas Strakosha in front of him, but his strike was too weak and the Albanian deflected it.

Nevertheless, Zalewski can be very pleased with his performance. Despite the fact that the Pole made a mistake before the break, which resulted in Lazio having an opportunity to score, he later rebuilt and did very well on the left side of the field. Zalewski, who started the league game for the fourth time in a row with the basic squad, stayed on the pitch until the 74th minute, when Matias Vina changed him.

The Rome Derby, however, had a different hero. It was Roma’s forward Tammy Abraham who scored two goals. The first one already in the 1st minute. The Englishman tapped the ball right in front of the goal line after a direct shot on goal from a corner kicked off the crossbar. Abraham added the second goal in the 22nd minute, using a pass from Rick Karsdorp.

Roma wrecked Lazio

None of the Englishman’s goals were quite as nice as the one scored by Lorenzo Pellegrini. In the 40th minute, the Italian made a phenomenal free-kick, not giving Strakosha the slightest chance to intervene.

Thanks to the win, Roma jumped Lazio in the table. Jose Mourinho’s team is in 5th place with 51 points. Roma are eight points behind Juventus ahead of them, who now qualify for the Champions League. Lazio is just behind the local rival with two points less.

After the break for the national team, Roma will play away against Sampdoria (April 3), and Lazio will take on Sassuolo on the same day.
