59 jumpers from 16 national teams competed in the qualification for Sunday’s competition. 40 of the best players qualified for the competition. The competition organizers again made strange decisions from the very beginning. After just six jumps, they changed the starting beam three times.

Six Poles fought for promotion. Four qualified for the competition. The best was Piotr Żyła, who jumped 218 meters and took eighth place. after a jump of 208.5 meters, he was 16th. Right behind him, Aleksander Zniszczo was ranked 20th, who jumped 216.5 meters. It was his life record. Dawid Kubacki (199.5 meters) finished the qualification in 24th place

Andrzej Stkaa and Jakub Wolny dropped out of the competition. The former was disqualified for incorrect suit. The Pole did not even jump, because the disqualification took place at the top of the hill. On the other hand, Wolny jumped only 168 meters in terrible conditions and was 41. He lacked one position to qualify for the competition.

There was also a hill record in qualifying. Its author was the Slovenian Domen Prevc, who jumped as much as 242.5 meters.

The Norwegian made a catastrophic jump – only 151.5 meters and he was only 52. ​​Only six jumpers jumped worse than Lindvik.

Let us remind you that Saturday’s World Cup competition in Oberstdorf was successful for the Poles. As many as five of our representatives were promoted to the second series. Japanese Ryoyu Kobayashi remains the leader of the overall World Cup ranking with 55 points ahead of German Karl Geiger.
