Team USA coach Peter Foley suspended over sexual harassment allegations
US Olympic snowboarding team head coach Peter Foley has been accused of sexual harassment. It is reported by ESPN.
An investigation is underway against the specialist, which is why he is temporarily suspended from work. The coach was completely isolated from the national team, he has no right to contact the snowboarders until the end of the case. This decision was made by the US Center for SafeSport.
During the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, former American snowboarder Callan Chitluk-Sifsof spoke about the harassment of the coach. She added that Foley had been photographing nude athletes for more than a decade.
Foley has led the US snowboard team since 1994. Under his leadership, athletes have won 35 Olympic medals.
Earlier on November 4, American athletics coach Ran Ryder was accused of sexual harassment. Several athletes complained about the 51-year-old specialist. After that, runners Adam Jemil and Daryl Neite, who are his wards, were required to stop working with the coach, otherwise they would be deprived of funding. Similar recommendations were sent to all British athletes who were going to train under the guidance of Ryder.
