Saturday’s World Cup competition was the best for Polish jumpers this winter. As many as five players advanced to the second series. The highest of our jumpers was Piotr Żyła, who took fifth place.

Michal Doleżal confirms that he has received the offer abroad

Kamil Stoch had a chance for a similar result, but in the second round he landed closer than in the first and finally took 12th place. Dawid Kubacki was 18th, Jakub Wolny 25th, and Andrzej Stêka³a 26th. Aleksander Zniszczoł, who was 32nd, was close to promotion.

The coach of Polish jumpers was satisfied with the course of the competition. However, he did not avoid questions about the future in our country. Especially in the context of the latest information revealed by Łukasz Jachimiak. One of them was to take the position of assistant to Stefan Horngacher in Germany.

– It is the specialty of the Polish media to publish such things. Of course, I talked to Stefan Horngacher, but I also talked to. The fact that I am moving to Germany is a rumor. I am waiting for a decision in Poland – said Michal Doleżal in Oberstdorf.

Our information shows that Doleżal only talked to. The head of ski jumping behind our western border – Horst Huettel – denied that there were plans to change assistant to the current coach of their team. No one from the union had any official talks with Doleżal.

Unofficially, we hear from a person close to German ski jumping that Horngacher is not going to sign a new contract with the German Ski Association for now. Perhaps the Austrian will want to negotiate and set strong conditions. One of them could be the employment of Doleżal. We remember that Horngacher appreciated the Czech and wanted him to work with him on our western border from the very beginning. For now, however, these are only guesses and rumors.

Michal Doleżal, in turn, admitted that he did not know what decisions to expect from PZN. – I have to admit I’m not sure after this season. There is a lot of pressure. I admit that I feel the support of the players and the staff. For my part, the decision will not be easy if the Polish Ski Association says that it wants me to keep trying – added the Czech, describing his future.

The trainer of the Polish team admitted that he had received an offer from other countries. – I have indeed received some offers, new challenges. I also had a few meetings. But we will see how it turns out, he concluded. In an interview with Eurosport, he said that the decision should be known in Planica.
