Nations Cup classification after Saturday’s competition in Oberstdorf

Slovenia is still in great shape, which has already been noticed during Friday’s training sessions in Oberstdorf. The best then was Timi Zajc, who scored as much as 232 meters and was the only competitor who exceeded the size of the facility. The best result so far was recorded by Kamil Stoch, who jumped 232 meters in Saturday’s test series and finished third. Thus he became the second jumper in history to exceed the limits of two hundred jumps over 200 meters.

Austrian Stefan Kraft won the first competition on the mammoth hill in Oberstdorf, ahead of two Slovenes – Ziga Jelar and Timi Zajc. The Slovenes were the most numerous nation in the top ten, because apart from the aforementioned two, Anze Lanisek and Peter Prevc were also in the top ten. Thereby Slovenia reduces the loss to Norway in the Nation’s Cup overall standings to 229 points.

The Polish national team will remain in sixth place in the Nations Cup, but for the first time since March 28, 2021, five of our representatives took part in the second competition series. This group included Kamil Stoch, Piotr Żyła, Dawid Kubacki, Jakub Wolny and Andrzej Stkaa. Żyła ended the competition in the top ten, taking fifth place. Stoch hoped for an equally good result, but before his jump the judges changed the beam to a lower one.
