Coach Borodavko said he considers it possible to remove the Russian Ski Racing Federation
Yuri Borodavko, head coach of the Russian cross-country skiing team, assessed the likelihood of the removal of the Russian Ski Racing Federation. He is quoted by TASS.
He stated that he considers such a decision by the International Ski Federation (FIS) possible. “There are already the first removal procedures, and they are being carried out ahead of time. It is likely that this may affect all Russian sports, ”the coach explained.
On March 17, it became known that the International Biathlon Union (IBU) began the procedure for the removal of the Russian Biathlon Union and the Belarusian Biathlon Federation with immediate effect. The national federations have been informed of the decision and have seven days to respond to it. The SBR assessed the decision as politically biased and unlawful and called it discrimination based on nationality.
Earlier, on March 1, Russian skiers were suspended from all tournaments under the auspices of the FIS. A few hours before, domestic athletes announced that they had completed the season.
