The victories of Russian women in Olympic disciplines are the main ones at the World Championships in Japan. Such a result of the tournament in an interview with TASS was summed up by the president of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics Irina Viner-Usmanova.
At the same time, the coach noted that in addition to success in individual and group all-around, she appreciates medals in the remaining types of the program. “As usual, we always had such results, but many did not particularly like it, probably,” added Viner-Usmanova.
Earlier on Saturday, October 30, Russian Dina Averina won the individual all-around. This allowed her to win the fifth gold medal in the tournament and 18th in her career. She surpassed the record of compatriot Evgenia Kanaeva, who has 17 victories at the world championships.
The Russian national team won the team classification of the world championship ahead of schedule. The tournament started on October 27.
