Jaga calms down despite 10 million zlotys of losses. There is another problem. Total misfire. Half a year and nothing

In recent years, Jagiellonia Białystok has been a model when it comes to the financial situation and paying its employees on time. However, now also in the club in Białystok it started to be uninteresting.

Financial problems of Jagiellonia. The arrears are to be settled in March

As Sport.pl found out, the situation in the Białystok club is not dramatic. Already next week, the arrears are to be settled after several days of delays. The players, in turn, are informed about everything by the new club president,. The team of Piotr Nowak can safely prepare for the next league matches. On Saturday evening she will face a very difficult task – she will play away with Lech Poznań, who is fighting for the Polish championship.

The problems arise for several reasons. Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, the club’s revenues, even on the match day (Jaga’s matches each come to 5,000 fans), have clearly decreased. In addition, she receives much less money from the city. Instead of PLN 3-4 million a year, it is now only a million, and there was a moment when the Białystok club could not count on money from the Białystok budget at all.

One cannot forget about sports matters. Jagiellonia has recently missed transfers, and the acquisition of each player costs money, even when it comes to compensation, but the player’s salary. Therefore, in winter she was unable to make serious transfers – four players came to the club, of which only the goalkeeper has a contract longer than the end of the season. In addition, the three basic and well-paid players of the club (Ivan Runje, Israel Puerto, Jesus Imaz) are healing serious injuries and in spring they will play little or not at all.

The analysis and scouting department led by Gerard Juszczak, who for half a year of work was not able to select even one player who could strengthen Jagiellonia in winter, turned out to be a complete failure. The head of the department was supposed to say the names of footballers from the league, league stars, the usefulness of which could well be determined by the average fan sitting in front of the TV set, and which the acquisition of Jagiellonia simply cannot afford.

What’s more, Jagiellonia has not been able to sell anyone for a long time. In the summer, the Białystok residents received several hundred thousand euros only for the Croatian Jakov Puljic, who moved to Hungary. In addition, for a larger injection of cash in this respect, you have to go back to January 2020, when Celtic Glasgow left for EUR 4 million

The bad news is that in the Jagiellonia team, it is currently difficult to find a player on whom the club could earn, and without that, and in view of the average results of the team recently, there may be a big problem with a significant improvement in Jaga’s financial situation, and the following months may be more difficult for the club. On Monday, at the General Meeting of the Supervisory Board of Jagiellonia, the company’s capital is to be increased, which is to help the club in the short term.

Importantly, the club ensures that all this will not affect negotiations with a new contract. The Spaniard’s talks with the president and sports director of Jaga are ongoing, and although the agreement is not close yet, it seems that the feelings are quite positive so far.

The Spaniard himself, in turn, had a control visit to Spain on Monday and received permission for light training, so his return to the game should be a matter of a few weeks. Another convalescent, who has not yet appeared this season, is to return to training when Piotr Nowak’s team returns to training on natural turf.
