The Milan – San Remo will be held this Saturday, March 19 and will have a 293 kilometer route. The edition 103 of the “Classicissima“will have a luxury poster.
Slovenian stars Tadej Pogacar and Primoz Roglic will be at the start of the Vigorelli Velodromerecent winners of Tirreno Adriatico and Paris Nice respectively, the Belgian Wout Van Aertthe British cyclocross world champion and MTB Olympic champion thomas pidcock. Last year’s winner was Jasper Stuyven.
From the Vigorelli Velodrome in Milan to Via Roma in San Remo, the peloton will cover 293 kilometres. This time the “Classicissima” returns to its most traditional routewith the Turchino and the Riviera Ligure as protagonists of the longest route of the season.
After overcoming, at km 142, the climb that divides the ‘plateau’ and the coast, the race will take the banks of the Tirreno to head for the walls, the ‘Capi’: the Capo Mel (km 241), the Capo Cervo (km 246) and the Capo Bertha (km 254), of increasing difficulty.
The two decisive raises they will be the Cypress (km 271; 5.6 km at 4.1%), conducive to causing a first selection, and, especially, the Poggio (km 287; 3.7 km at 3.7%), where the movements for victory usually arrive before Via Roma.
