Putin congratulated Russians on winning the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Russian women Anastasia Bliznyuk, Polina Orlova, Alisa Tishchenko, Maria Tolkacheva and Angelina Shkatova on their victory at the World Championships in Japan in the group all-around. This was reported on the Kremlin website.

According to the head of state, the athletes impressed the audience with their magnificent skill, grace and charm. He also noted the strength of the opponents and called the victory deserved.

The Russians won the world championship on Friday, October 29th. The athletes scored 88.350 points for their performance. The Italians took the second place, the Belarusian sportswomen took the third place.

Russian woman Dina Averina won four gold medals at the tournament. She excelled in exercises with the ball, hoop and clubs, and also received the highest honor for the victory of the Russian national team in the team competition.
