The coach of the hockey team Zhamnov about the removal from the Eurotour: life does not end
The head coach of the Russian national hockey team Alexei Zhamnov appreciated the removal of the team from the Eurotour. His words are quoted by Championship.com.
The specialist described the sanctions against Russian hockey with the phrase “life does not end.” He considered it necessary to develop domestic sports, as well as pay more attention to young people. Zhamnov also said that it was necessary to organize a tournament with the participation of the national teams of Belarus and Kazakhstan.
On March 16, it became known that the Swiss national team will replace the Russians at the stages of the Eurotour in the next two years. The first tournament in which the Swiss will take part will be the Beijer games. They will be held in Sweden from 5 to 8 May.
On February 28, the International Ice Hockey Federation suspended the national teams of Russia and Belarus from participating in tournaments under its auspices. This deprived the Russians of the opportunity to compete at the 2022 World Cup. In addition, the national team will not be able to hold the youth world championship, which was to be held at the end of December in Novosibirsk and Omsk.
