In the quarter-finals with the American Madison Keys, an additional stake was the promotion to the second place in the ranking, the highest in the career of a 20-year-old Polish woman.

The three previous matches in Indian Wells – with Anhelina Kalinina, Clara Tauson and – Iga ¦wi ± tek won only after three hundred battles, each time losing in the first game and being indisputably better in the next two. Against Keys, Polka played at her highest level from the very first ball.
