Caja Rural – Seguros RGA had a great start in the Vuelta al Alentejo this Wednesday, March 16, since Orluis Aular achieved victory in the first stage and donned the leader’s jersey. What’s more, his teammate Iúri Leitao was second.
The inaugural stage of the Vuelta al Alentejo was held between Vendas Novas and Sines (176.8 km). The peloton arrived unified in the final stretch, Aular attacked, took a few meters ahead, and crossed the finish line in first position. Leitao (Caja Rural – Seguros RGA) was second and Leangel Linarez (Tavfer-Mortágua) third. Mikel Aristi (Euskaltel – Euskadi) finished in 12th place.
The general classification is led by Aularwhat four seconds ahead of Iúri Leitao and Rodrigo Caixas (LA Alumínios – Credibom), second and third respectively.
