Copa Sudamericana sets qualifiers for group stage this week

The Copa Sudamericana this week defines its last classified for the group stage of the tournament, which will be played from April 5 to May 26.

Between Tuesday and Thursday, 16 clashes between teams from the same country will define who will be added to the four eliminated from the third phase of the Copa Libertadores, which will also be decided this week, and the six representatives from Argentina and six from Brazil.

The draw for the South American group stage takes place on March 25, in Asunción, on the same day as the draw for the Libertadores keys.

This year’s Copa Sudamericana final will take place on October 1, at Mané Garrincha Stadium, in Brasília. The champion will compete in the Recopa Sudamericana with the winner of Libertadores 2022 and will be guaranteed a spot in the group stage of the continent’s main competition in 2023.
