The Serbs will replace the men’s team at the Davis Cup. In the women’s tournament, instead of the Russians, the Australian team will perform.
On March 1, the ITF temporarily suspended Russia from participating in competitions under its auspices. The country’s membership in the organization was also suspended.
On December 5, the Russian men’s team won the Davis Cup for the first time in 15 years, beating the Croatian team. In the final of the tournament, first Andrei Rublev defeated Borno Goyo, and then Daniil Medvedev defeated Marin Cilic. Aslan Karatsev, Karen Khachanov and Evgeny Donskoy also played for the team.
