The head of the Bellator promotion Scott Cocker spoke about the organization of the farewell fight of the Russian mixed martial arts fighter (MMA) Fedor Emelianenko. It is reported by “Championship.com”.
According to him, the American organization is forced to cancel the fight, which was supposed to take place on Red Square in Moscow this year. “Now we have to change plans, find something equally amazing. Fedor deserves a great send-off. It’s just that we don’t know yet where exactly we will hold them, ”said Cocker.
On February 7, Emelianenko announced the names of the athletes whom he considers as potential rivals in the farewell fight. Among them are the Brazilians Fabricio Werdum and Junior dos Santos.
On October 23 last year, Emelianenko fought Timothy Johnson at the first ever Bellator tournament in Moscow. The fight ended with the victory of the Russian heavyweight.
