Chelsea remain unthreatened in third place in the Premier League. On Thursday afternoon, the London team visited Norwich, for the 30th round of the competition. The game ended in a 3-1 victory for the Blues.
The visiting team started the match at a high pace and, after 3 minutes of ball rolling, opened the scoring with Trevoh Chalobah. Thomas Tuchel’s men continued on top and, in the 14th minute, they scored another one, this time with Mason Mount, who got rid of the marking before hitting the angle.
However, after the goals, Chelsea’s intensity dropped a little, and in the first half, the nets didn’t swing again.
The ball would only re-enter in the 24th minute of the second half. Chalobah touched the ball with his hand inside the penalty area and the referee pointed to the lime mark. In the charge, the Finnish striker Teemu Pukki did not forgive and decreased for his team.
However, the reaction stopped there. In the 44th minute there was still time for Chelsea to leave their third. Kanté set up Kai Havertz at the edge of the area, and the German was precise in the finalization, in the high corner, with no chance of defense.
The score ended at 3 to 1. Better for Chelsea, third place with 56 points, eight away from Arsenal, in fourth place, and seven from Liverpool, vice-leader.
Meanwhile, Norwich continues to live a dramatic situation, in the last position of the table with only 17 points conquered so far. Everton, the first team outside the relegation zone, have 22.
