Dani Olmo “is not in a hurry” at RB Leipzig and rules out negotiation chances with Barcelona

Barcelona’s interest in Dani Olmo doesn’t come from now. In October 2021, the club was already looking to hire the athlete to replace Aguero, but negotiations have cooled down and there are low chances of a new relationship taking place.

In an interview with sports picturethe RB Leipzig midfielder revealed that he is not in a hurry at the club and could not find reasons for a possible departure from Germany either.

“I’m not in a hurry. I’m very happy here and I still have a contract until 2024. I don’t see any reason to leave this summer and change clubs. I just realized how fast it can be. I’ve had a difficult six months and I’m happy to be able to play again. . I just focus on the games and nothing else”, declared the player.

Olmo suffered an injury in November and, in total, missed 13 games because of what happened and because he tested positive for covid-19. Gradually, he is recovering and hopes to be able to recover his good performance on the pitch.

“I haven’t played a game longer than 90 minutes this season, but I’m ready for it and the coach knows that too. I understand him and the doctors, they want to protect me. Nobody wants to risk another setback,” he said.

The likelihood of playing in a Champions League with Leipzig also weighs on Dani’s decision to stay in the squad. Currently, the club appears in fifth place in the German Championship and seeks to qualify for the tournament.

“I would like to play in the Champions League. This is clear and everyone here feels the same. We have this objective and I’m sure we will achieve it this year”, concluded the athlete.
