Plushenko’s student Zhilina performed a unique cascade with a quadruple salchow in training
Russian figure skater Veronika Zhilina performed a unique jump in training. This was told by her coach Evgeni Plushenko in Instagram.
The 13-year-old student of the two-time Olympic champion jumped a combination of a double Axel and a quadruple salchow through an oiler. Previously, none of the skaters performed a cascade in which the second jump is a quadruple.
On December 25, 14-year-old student of Eteri Tutberidze Adelia Petrosyan jumped two quadruple loops in the program at the Russian Championship and entered the history of figure skating. Before her, no one, including men, could perform this unique jump singly and in a cascade in one program.
The first in the history of women’s single skating to perform a quadruple salchow, sheepskin coat and lutz in the framework of the official competition was the Russian Alexandra Trusova. In 2020, she moved to the Plushenko group, but after a season she returned to Tutberidze.
